Stacks and Flows is an independent, vendor-neutral AI Automation Decision Platform. We help builders and operators decide whether to automate, whether a problem needs a workflow, an AI agent, or durable execution, and which tools fit the operational boundary. Coverage includes workflow automation tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, and Pipedream; agent frameworks such as LangGraph; and durable orchestration systems such as Temporal.

Our editorial stance

We are vendor-neutral and anti-lock-in. There is no universal winner. The right choice depends on the execution model, deployment boundary, state, reliability needs, migration cost, lock-in, direct cost, and the operational work your team is willing to own.

Our job is to state the boundary: when a tool makes sense, when it does not, what evidence supports the conclusion, and what it costs to change direction. We recommend combinations when a stack is the right answer; we do not manufacture winners.

Who runs Stacks and Flows

Stacks and Flows is operated by an independent team of practitioners who build and ship automations day to day. We publish under a brand rather than personal bylines because our work should stand on the research, not on a face.
